End of upstart church group won't stop renegade priest

No change for St. Stanislaus Kostka's Father Bozek.

That's how the local renegade Polish priest is reacting to news that the new Catholic organization he is aligned with has been dissolved.

When the Rev. Marek Bozek was defrocked by the Vatican, he was granted what's know as faculties -- the rights to perform as a priest with valid sacraments -- by a breakaway Roman Catholic group called The Reformed Catholic Church.

But now, the leader of that movement has resigned due to a new controversy -- and the church's bishops have voted to dissolve the nine year old organization.

So in light of that, questions are being raised as to the future validity of Father Bozek's work at St. Stanislaus Kostka parish near downtown.

But Father Bozek tells me his affiliation with that dissolved group was very loose -- and will not have any impact on the work he is doing here.
